Machine Gunners

The school bell rang, shrill and loud. I rushed out of the classroom before the master told us we could, as ago, as always. My minions came soon after and we packed our bags to go to the lane where we would wait to ambush our prey, Sicky Nicky, and round off the school day with an hour of torture. We waited in the lane to the main road from our school for Nicky. We can always hear him before we see him. The sound of the swishing of the expensive bag and the clank clanking of the even more expensive drawing instruments met our ears, like music in the ears of my pack. Then we heard something unfamiliar. The sound of voices following the swishing and clank-clanking. " You've got puny muscles, Knickers. Has anyone ever told you that?” Chas' voice licked like flames against my ears. "No, I haven't been told that.” I spat in front of me. Nicky sounded hopeful. They appeared in front of us. Nicky's face drained of colour. Chas and Cem drew protectively around him. Nicky looked as though he would be sick. I ordered two of my minions to pick Nicky out of his protective circle, but a figure jumped out and knocked them to the floor. Clogger. How had Chas managed to get Clogger on his side? What secret did Clogger cover? I commanded that my get round them so they couldn't escape to the main road. "Good move, Boddser,"I thought, removing my gasmask haversack, school bag, school raincoat and my blazer. Chas did the same. I thrashed my fists towards Chas' face but he dodged them and threw gravel into my eyes. I fell back, tears streaming down my face. Chas picked up his gasmask and swung it at me. It stabbed me in the forehead. It drew back again. Pain jabbed through my body in icy waves. Oh, how I hate Chas. It drew back again; ready to kill me this time. But Cem stopped it, pulling it behind Chas' back and yelling. Everything went hazy, voices shouting. Clogger's face came into view, floating about like a reflection.” I’ll love you with all my love, Cem, for saving me from Chas," was the last thing I thought. Then I went black.

Autumn's Powers

Scarlet, red and golden leaves

Surrounding me in awe

Like a wave of endless beauty

The breezy wind peacefully pulsing joy into my soul

Nature's beauty seeping silently

Through my veins and into my heart

Faded scent of the fiery leaves

Like an echo inside me

The mustard yellows and ruby reds

Mixed like a treat to my eyes

God's reward

The song of birds

So wonderful to me

Machine Gunners-Chapter Twelve

I was tailing McGill as soon as he left his house, which was around half nine. I don't think he knew because he didn't look behind him, not once! I was so sure he had that machine gun and every morning he set off to some place, which was probably where he was keeping it in with his stupid little friends. He walked along to a hawthorn hedge and dawdled along. I think there were two holes in it coz he walked straight past a hole in the hedge and I think he knew it was there coz he darted through what must have been another one. I went through the first and then, seeing him sprint away, I ran after him. What was he trying to do? I chased him for half a minute before I was behind him again. He said good morning to another with a pram with such innocence it was obvious he was acting and trying to throw me off bait.He tried a glass topped wall next but I got over it easy! I'd done the water pipe that spanned the red burn before so that was easy too.

Rugby Training- Personal Account

My class and I were offered a three week course of rugby training from the 9th- 23rd of September. These taster sessions were from Forrester Rugby club which has an after school club on a Wednesday. Happily listening to Bill, the coach, explaining our warmup game, I was thinking about how much fun I was thinking about how much fun I was going to have. After teaching us how the game worked,Bill told us to get a belt and two tails as we were playing a game called 'Bulldogs'. Hearing my name get called out, I sprinted across to the other side without getting caught, but just as I reached the other side  I slid  and fell in the mud! The fall was extremely painful though  it was quite hilarious! After playing 'Bulldogs' Bill put us into teams(I was red) so we could play a touch rugby match. My team was pathetic during the first match and we lost 3-0. I do slightly think it was my fault we lost the match as I kept passing forward instead of backwards. When the match was finished my team played the losing team of the other match. My team was losing for ages but then my team scored a try and we were neck and neck with the other team. Half way through the match the rugby ball landed in some dog dirt and I was appalled at how irresponsible some dog owners are. We got a new ball and my team scored again! Colin(another coach)blew the whistle and it was time to go back to class. I couldn't believe ,it my team had won! My whole team was outstandingly joyful.
As I changed my shoes, I thought about how much fun I'd had. 'Hopefully it will be this fun every week
