October 2009

P6B have been making masks for their biome. We have made masks for our biomes to make a presentation. Our teacher has brought in a dvd about all the biomes which are: Desert, Temperate, Tropical and Polar/ Tundra. We have been researching the Rainforest layers. We are going to tell you the highest point to the lowest point: Emergent Layer, Canopy, Understory, Forest floor. The biggest cacti in the world can grow up to 18 meters.

We have been doing a personal account about our first day at school or a first day at a new school. We have been reading for enjoyment so we can read whatever we want. We have been getting a different spelling challenge every week. Last week we had to write a silly story using all of our spelling words.

We were at I.C.T and we made a powerpoint about are biomes. We also did a game on BBC called dance mat typing, it was really fun when we got told how to do the home row. We have been researching on the internet for homework and found out lots. We have also been doing French and now we can greet people and count up to 40. We can also say the months in French so we can say are Birthday. By Glen and Joanna P6B

November 2009

This year in November P6 have embarked on a trip to the zoo.We have been focusing on classification and adaptation. At the zoo the zoologist told us about vertebrates and invertebrates. We were mainly learning about the main 5 groups of vertebrates; Amphibians, Fish, Mammals, Reptiles and Birds. We were also talking about how the 5 groups hunt, eat, drink and lay eggs.We would recommend this trip to all classes!

We have begun a new topic on victorians. Even though we have done this in P3, we are going in to more detail. We are learning about victorian inventions and how they help us now in every day life. We have got a big wall mural timeline up and it shows 45 inventions. We are all looking forward to Lagganlia (the P6 annual residential!) We are leaving on the 16 of November and staying for 5 nights!!!!! Charlie & Evie P6A!!!
