About Us

The school is set within the old village and community of Corstorphine. There has been a school on this site since 1646. The present building dates from the Victorian era with various sections added over the years which have provided a certain idiosyncrasy and character to its feel.

A significant proportion of our parents and grandparents were also pupils at the school and this helps very much in developing the sense of pride in, ownership of and responsibility towards the school and its development.

At present we have fifteen primary classes, one morning, and one afternoon nursery group. We offer specialist teaching in Physical Education. Instrumental Tuition is available for older children and there are a variety of after-school clubs.

All classes are housed in the Victorian building, which has been added to from time to time in

a fairly random way.  This makes for an interesting interior, with traditional classroom

units.  The school also has a library, ICT suite, gym hall and dining room.  We also have a music

room in one of the temporary units in the playground.  The nursery class, with its own garden and play area, is also housed in a temporary unit.
